Terms of Use

Last updated: 2026-10-29

These Terms govern your use of the Batyr app and the batyr.app website (“Batyr”), made by Ilsur Gabdulkhakov, an independent developer (“we”, “us”). By using Batyr you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Batyr.

Who can use Batyr

You must be at least 16 years old to use Batyr. By using it you confirm that you are, and that you are allowed to agree to these Terms where you live.

The service

Batyr is a workout log: it records your training, suggests the weight and reps for your next sets from what you logged, runs training plans, and lets you share plans and progress with the people you choose. Features can change as the app evolves, and we may add, change or remove them. We work to keep Batyr available but can’t promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free.

If paid features are ever offered, the app will show their price and terms before you buy, and the purchase will be handled by Apple or Google under their terms.

Your account

Batyr starts with an anonymous account and backs your training up to it. Signing in with Apple or Google is optional and needed for friends, a coach, sharing and several devices. You’re responsible for what happens on your device and in your account. Batyr shares its account system with WellBite, a nutrition app by the same developer: signed in with the same Apple or Google account, it’s one account for both apps.

Train at your own risk

Batyr is not medical advice and not a medical device. Its targets, weights, plans, technique notes and progress numbers are worked out from the sets you log and general training rules; they are information, not professional, medical or physiotherapy advice, and they can be wrong for you. Heart rate and other numbers shown are for information only.

  • Talk to a doctor before you start or change a training program, especially if you have a health condition, an injury, are pregnant, or haven’t trained for a while.
  • Learn the technique of an exercise before you load it, use safe equipment and a spotter where appropriate, and stop if you feel pain, dizziness or shortness of breath.
  • You decide what you lift. Strength training carries a risk of injury, and you take that risk.

Your content

Your workouts, plans, notes, names and photos (“your content”) remain yours. You give us a limited licence to store, back up, copy between your devices and show your content to the people you choose — only as needed to run Batyr. When you share a plan by link or code, you let the people who open it view it and use it for their own training (they keep their copy, even if you later turn the link off).

Rules for what you share

Anything you show other people — plan titles and notes, your name, coach notes, progress photos you share — must follow these rules. Don’t post or send:

  • nudity or sexual content;
  • harassment, bullying, threats, or content that demeans people for who they are, including hate speech;
  • spam, advertising, or misleading content, including impersonating someone else;
  • anything illegal, violent or dangerous, or content that encourages self-harm or eating disorders;
  • other people’s private information, or their photos without their permission;
  • content you have no right to share.

We have no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users.

Reporting and blocking

You can report a shared plan, a note, a workout, progress photos or a person with Report in the app — the person isn’t told who reported them — or by emailing support@ilsur.me with the plan link or code. You can block a person in People & access: you stop seeing each other, and they can’t invite you again. We review reports promptly and may remove content, turn off links and suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

Coaches and friends

Batyr lets you give a coach or a friend access to your training. Any coaching arrangement is between you and the coach. We don’t employ, vet, certify or recommend coaches, we aren’t a party to anything you agree with them — including payments — and we aren’t responsible for their advice. A coach’s changes to your plan and weights are suggestions: you can see each one and undo it, and you choose what to lift. You can take back anyone’s access at any time. If you coach others, you’re responsible for your advice and for respecting their privacy.

Plans shared by other people are their content; we don’t review them before they’re shared.

Acceptable use

Don’t misuse Batyr: don’t reverse-engineer, probe, overload or disrupt it; don’t use automated clients, modified builds or scripts to scrape plan pages or guess codes; don’t access other people’s data without their permission; and don’t use Batyr for anything unlawful.

Our rights

Batyr’s app, website, design, exercise catalog, technique texts and pictures belong to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, under these Terms and the App Store’s or Google Play’s rules.

Ending your use

You can stop using Batyr at any time and delete your data or your account in the app (Profile → Delete workout data, or Profile → Account → Delete account) or by email — see Delete your account. We may suspend or close an account, or remove content, if it breaks these Terms or the law, or to protect other people; where we can, we’ll tell you why. Sections that by their nature should survive (your licence to us for content already shared, disclaimers, limits of liability) survive the end of these Terms.

Disclaimers

Batyr is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including accuracy of targets, estimates and records, fitness for a particular purpose, and uninterrupted availability.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for injuries, health outcomes, lost data, or indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from your use of Batyr, from content other users share, or from advice of coaches you choose. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Some places don’t allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you, and nothing here limits rights you have as a consumer that can’t be waived.

Apple

If you got Batyr from the App Store: these Terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple isn’t responsible for Batyr, its content, maintenance or support, or for any claims about it (including product liability, legal compliance or intellectual property claims). If Batyr fails to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, which may refund the purchase price, if any; Apple has no other warranty obligation. You confirm you’re not in a country under a US government embargo and not on a US government list of prohibited or restricted parties. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Taiwan (Republic of China), where the developer lives, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved by the competent courts of Taiwan. If you use Batyr as a consumer, nothing in these Terms takes away the protection that the mandatory laws of the country where you live give you, including your right to bring a claim in your local courts.

Changes

We may update these Terms. We’ll post the new version here with a new date and tell you in the app about important changes. If you keep using Batyr after a change, the new Terms apply.
